Duties/Responsibilities

Provide design engineering staff augmentation support to SRNS.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Engineering analysis, walkdowns, design development and generation of design output documents including but not limited to:
  P&IDs; Control Logics; Loop Diagrams; Instrument Indices; Setpoint Lists; Instrument and Control Valve Specifications; DCS and PLC Design; Instrument Location and Installation Design; Panel Layouts; and Vendor Document Review.

Education

• Advance degree in Engineering, Math, or Science (Preferred)
• Combination of education and experience will be considered where the candidate has an advance degree.
• BS degree in Engineering, Math, or Science.

Experience/Skills

• Demonstrated previous experience in developing, reviewing, and maintaining SRS criticality safety documents (Preferred).
• Demonstrated previous SRS nuclear/criticality safety engineering experience and qualifications (Preferred).
• Demonstrate the ability to lead and direct junior staff in the coordination of efforts to complete complex activities.
• Active L or Q security clearance within past two years (Preferred)
• Demonstrated a minimum of 25 years of recent experience in the nuclear/criticality safety industry through support of the Department of Energy (DOE) or the commercial nuclear industry.
• Demonstrated previous experience with the use and implementation of 10 CFR 830, DOE O 420.1C, and related directives and standards.
• Demonstrated personal accountability for facility/project schedules, deadlines, budgets, and the safe performance of work; and proficiency in performing Criticality Safety Program assessments.
• Demonstrated proficiency in the use of a criticality safety code (MCNP or SCALE).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance.

Area Security Access:
The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After the award, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments. Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance ( L or Q ) within the past two years are preferred.
