Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, implements and administers human resources programs and policies for the organization in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

  • Administers the benefit program in support of HR Director and organization, by working with various external vendors/consultants, internal payroll team, and educates management and staff on benefit offerings at NorthLakes.
  • Responsible for the documentation of all benefit plan and retirement plan enrollment and employee records, as well as SPDs, OE materials, etc.
  • Maintains documentation of all benefit plan participation and limits, researches benefit trends, and ensures compliance with plan provisions and government requirements.
  • Conducts market salary and benefit surveys and provides recommendations to determine competitive wage rates and benefit offerings.
  • Carries out the annual Tuition Reimbursement program to include coordination and communication with staff and leaders.
  • Supports Director of HR with administration of the compensation and benefits programs, to include the merit and SAWA process.
  • Plans and administers the annual performance management process in conjunction with Director input.
  • Manages the Leave of Absence process (to include all FMLA and non-FMLA leaves) as well as the COBRA process, in accordance with both State and Federal requirements.
  • Processes the off-boarding and unemployment claims process for separating employees.
  • Oversees staff to include hiring, training, coaching and development of team members.
  • Oversight for the Worker’s Compensation program and partners with Occupational Health and management team regarding incident reporting, RTW guidance, and OSHA compliance.
  • Administers the PTO Buy In/Cash Out process for NorthLakes.
  • Administers health center’s HRSA/NHSC/HPSA loan repayment program, assures that the organization and providers are in compliance with program guidelines, informs management of impact to organization regarding changes in the program.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the HRIS, including data integrity, transactions, access, and training to include hires, promotions, transfers, reviews, and terminations.
  • Plans and executes the Engagement Survey and Exit Interview Process to monitor and recommend avenues to increase staff engagement and reduce turnover.
  • Executes the organization’s Affirmative Action Plan and other DEI initiatives; such as the annual HEI survey, etc.
  • Responds to general inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Responsible for required government compliance reports and filings to external stakeholder entities to include; EEO-1, 5500 Reporting, Audits, Multiple Worksite reporting, etc.
  • Works on ad-hoc projects as needed including leadership development, new manager training and employee engagement.
  • May assist Recruitment Team with activities related to management-level vacancies. Participates in interviewing when necessary.
  • May represent organization in response to charges, employment hearings, and investigations as needed to support the Director.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Degree in Human Resources Management, Business or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10 years of Human Resources practitioner experience required
  • 5 years of prior experience managing HR staff required
  • PHR or SPHR Certification preferred
  • Only considering local residents of WI and MN

Other experience/skills preferred:

  • Microsoft Office applications
  • HRIS/ATS experience
  • Google
