Summary: Supports, delivers, and interprets the company culture, vision, and goals by developing, communicating and interpreting company policy, federal & state employment laws, health and welfare benefits, retirement programs, and payroll activities for sixteen U.S. locations by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

This is an in-office position 8am - 5pm, M - F in the Woodridge, IL office

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Strategic HR Initiatives Develop/Implement/Administer
  • Develops, implements, interprets, enforces, upgrades, and presents company policies with Corp HRD.
  • Provides direction and coaching to front line and executive level managers regarding disciplinary, documentation, retention, and motivational issues. Counsel Managers and provide direction working with Attorney as needed
  • Career Development/Career Pathing (Develop with Training Team Path to Learning)
  • Employee Engagement/Culture (Surveys/Round Tables/Recognition) New Hire and Quarterly Check-ins with Staff (tracked and documented) (Manage Quarterly Go the Extra Mile Program)
  • Manage Annual Review Process (Prepare/Create documents in ADP, provide manager training on process/track results) Provide Training to Managers on how to evaluate and document employee performance
  • Manage Staffing Modules and Annual Analysis of staff levels with Corp. HRD
  • Job Descriptions Reviews and Updates. Add Core Competencies/Job Tasks to ADP for Performance Evaluation Creation
  • Handbook & Policy Reviews and Updates
  • Respond to and Participate in Unemployment Claims and Hearings
  • Work with Managers to develop and document Bonus Programs annually
  • Create and send Offer letters for all positions, complete new hire onboarding process with new hires.
  • Benefit Administration: Benefit Orientations & Enrollments (Ensure all paperwork is complete and ADP is up to date)
  • Investigate Claims of Discrimination and Harassment and respond to EEO or Attorney received communications with Griffin Attorney
  • Develop Onboarding Process for New Employees first 90 days
  • Succession Planning – Work with Division Heads to map out Succession Planning
  • Manage Annual Early Retirement Incentive Program
  • Manage Recruitment Process (Staffing Guide & Work with Recruiter to fill positions), Interviews and aides in staff selection; composes and places employment advertisements with Recruiter, assists with interviewing and selection as needed.
  • Presents New Hire and Benefit Orientation Programs for line staff and managers.
  • Off Boarding - Exit Interview for all voluntary terms
  • Annual Open Enrollment - Process and Communication (Documents, Meetings, ADP and Auditing of changes made)
  • Leave of Absence Administration (FMLA, State Leaves, Disability, etc)
  • Oversees design, editing, publication, and distribution of quarterly newsletter.
  • Manages workers’ compensation program to include state compliance, federal reporting, claims reporting, return to work and light duty assignments working with Risk Compliance Manager.
  • This position requires regular and reliable attendance and adherence to work schedules.
  • Travel to branches - 10% annual travel

Education and/or Experience:

Must be hands on; demonstrate initiative by taking calculated risks when appropriate. Requires minimum supervision and is able to grasp organizational concepts and direction within the first 30–60 days of employment. Previous hands-on experience in an HR Leadership role (7-10 years) with the ability to develop, implement, and maintain controls and process. Strong team building skills with the ability to motivate, and build morale. Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in business or human resources. PHR/SPHR Certifications or MBA preferred.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have proven experience with Microsoft Office Suite, ADP Workforce Now, Electronic Time Card software, have working knowledge of Internet software; E-mail software.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
