The employee will be assigned to the Business and Technology Office, Fiscal Services, and Payroll unit. Under general supervision, the employee will be responsible for processing multiple payrolls for the Department of Environmental Protection, Environmental Quality Board, and Oil & Gas Conservation Commission.
Other duties include: administrative work providing support services such as: verify compliance with overtime regulations, payroll issues, increment amounts, and termination of employment; enter employee’s benefits; make corrections to employee’s pay, deduction, tax withholdings when necessary; enter timesheet adjustment documents to make adjustments to accounting of employee’s pay; review preliminary payroll reports to assure accuracy of employee pay; confer with other state and federal agencies for resolutions of payroll issues, including payment of administrative fees, payroll taxes, filing of accurate and timely reports. Interpret and follow Payroll, Overtime, and Unemployment law.
The position will verify timesheets from contractors & subcontractors to ensure they follow the Davis Bacon Act. The employee will perform other duties as required or assigned.
Employee must be proficient in Excel and OASIS. Must have experience in payroll. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other DEP offices and outside agencies. The position requires employees to maintain confidential information.

Minimum Qualifications
Training: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
Substitution: Candidates may substitute related experience for the required education at the rate of one (1) year of experience for thirty (30) semester hours of education.
Experience:Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional human resources, payroll, bookkeeping or accounting experience.
Substitution: Graduate coursework from a regionally accredited college or university may substitute for the required experience at the rate of one (1) year of experience for fifteen (15) semester hours of education.
Promotional Only: Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a Human Resources Associate.
Note: A valid driver's license may be required.

PG: 12 $30,502 - $56,428
Market Rate: $49,718
