Opportunity: Human Resources Fellow
The Robert R. McCormick Foundation seeks an experienced HR Fellow to join our growing HR team. The HR Fellow supports the implementation and deployment of Human Resources policies, programs, and initiatives. The Fellow will assist with all transactional HR matters along with, new-hire onboarding, talent acquisition, benefits administration, employment inquiries, record-keeping, file maintenance, and HRIS entry. The ideal candidate is adaptable, collaborative, and can work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. This is an 18 month, full-time (i.e., 32-40 hours/week) position. The position will be located in Wheaton, Illinois.
Essential Functions
· Assist the HR department with recruiting responsibilities include posting jobs ads, initial screenings, and scheduling interviews
· Working the with the HR Business Partner, develop and centralize the Foundation’s volunteer and veterans volunteer program
· Manage part-time and seasonal recruitment and hiring procedures
· Processes HR transactions in Paylocity software, including all personnel changes, job changes, new hires, terminations, and employment verifications
· Maintain compliance with HR reporting, employment statistics, and local, state, and federal regulations
· Projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in HR related field
Experience: Up to 1 year of recruiting experience, familiarity with entire recruitment lifecycle
Skills:
· Maintains high standards of confidentiality of all employee records and documents
· Conduct business with integrity consistent with the Foundation’s values, policies, and procedures
· Proven knowledge and experience in assisting with general HR functions, typically achieved through 2-5 years within an HR function
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Outstanding interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Excellent organizational skill
· Thorough knowledge of employment laws and regulations
· Knowledge of and experience with HR information systems
· Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time, hybrid position and work is performed in a typical office environment based at Cantigny Park, Wheaton IL.
