Job Summary:
A Human Resource Coordinator is responsible for assisting with various HR functions within an organization, including recruiting and onboarding new employees, administering employee benefits programs, maintaining personnel records, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations. They may also assist with performance management processes, such as employee evaluations, and help to resolve conflicts between employees. The HR Coordinator often serves as a liaison between employees and management and plays a key role in maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Recruiting functions include job postings, reviewing resumes, conducting initial interviews, and coordinating throughout the process.
- Manage employee benefits program, such as compensation, health insurance, 401k plans, and other benefits offered by the organization.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date personnel records, including employee information, performance evaluations, and other HR-related documentation.
- Develop and implement employee onboarding, orientation, and training programs to ensure that new employees are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to perform their jobs effectively.
- Advancing the company culture by fostering an environment of teamwork, collaboration, and open communication by promoting and modeling the company's values and culture. (i.e., birthdays, employee of the month program, occasional activities, etc.)
- Identify and clarify employee issues and implement solutions, including coaching and counseling.
- Take charge of employee accountability, including timely performance reviews, attendance, PTO, productivity, and exit interviews.
- Ensuring the organization’s policies and procedures are in compliance with federal and state employment regulations, such as equal employment opportunity (EEO) laws, minimum wage laws, workplace safety regulations, etc.
- Manage workers comp and/or liability insurance issues.
- Maintain confidentiality for HR related subjects.
- Other duties assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and writing skills.
- Ability to work independently with strong organizational, prioritization and analytical skills.
- Handle conflicts, manage expectations, and work collaboratively with others.
- History of working in complex team environments with numerous/diverse departments.
- Ability to build processes along the way if needed.
- Ability to apply good judgment and lead problem solving within the team.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
