Position Title: Human Resources Associate
Reports To: SVP - Director of Human Resources

Work Locations: Richmond, VA

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Purpose

This position is responsible for assisting the HR department with a variety of duties, including new hire onboarding, orientation, payroll and benefits administration, employee assistance and special assignments as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Handles employment-related inquiries from employees and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Manages HR records including, résumés, applicant logs, and employee forms.
  • Assisting with the distribution of training material, new policies, announcements, etc.
  • Contributes to ongoing recruiting efforts as needed.
  • Continually works with department to streamline the hiring process and improve internal policies.
  • Maintaining employee confidentiality.
  • Ensure compliance with labor regulations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
  • Create value for the bank and its employees.

Requirements:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Skills:

  • Working knowledge of human resources programs, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Experience with recruitment and selection techniques and strategies, classification and compensation practices.
  • Experience with benefits administration.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Abilities:

  • Interpret and apply policies and procedures.
  • Prepares, processes, tracks, and files large volumes of personnel and other sensitive documents.
  • Able to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education or training in Human Resources Business Management, or related field.
