Overview:
Hampton Lumber in Willamina is looking for an
HR Administrator/Coordinator for our team. The successful candidate must be a self starter willing to work with leadership and employees in all situations and maintain confidentiality requirements. Attention to detail, the ability to embrace change and support others is essential. This position has the potential for growth in the HR field.

Responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Understand and comply with Company policies, safety rules, and procedures
- Make a positive impact within the Willamina team
- Have the ability to traverse thru the lumber mill safely and with confidence
- Represent the HR department in meetings when needed, such as PAC, safety, and interviews. Provide back- up scribe services for the same, distribute previous meeting notes and agendas within 48 hours of meetings and provide any other assistance as needed.
- Ability to assist with personnel and safety investigations
- Manage and track workers compensation claims
- Assist in scheduling and tracking annual trainings such as: PIT, First Aid/CPR training, and hearing tests.
- Assist with new hire packets, handbooks, and participate in new hire orientations and onboarding.
- Assist with direct hiring tasks as needed. This may include pre-screening tasks, scheduling interviews, background verifications.
- Maintain the scanning and filing of personnel records, including but not limited to disciplinary actions, payroll information, personnel changes, performance reviews and any other needed documentation.
- Assist with FMLA/OFLA, PLO and Short-Term Disability requests.
- Assist with the administration of the Willamina Division Affirmative Action Program.
- Perform monthly random controlled substance testing.
- Assist in maintaining company bulletin boards, including but not limited to required posting and informational postings.
- Assist in the facilitation, and where needed, distribution of items needed for employee recognition, including but not limited to plant BBQ’s, clothing items, dinners, outside and inside meeting facilities, food, refreshments, gift certificates, and any other Company related events.
- Create and distribute fliers or letters pertaining to special events and/or employee recognition.
- Assist HR Manager with tasks and projects as needed.
- Other assignments as needed.
- 3 – 5 years in Human Resources and/or Customer Service experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience.
- Required working knowledge and proficiency in MS Office systems, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
