We are looking for a reliable individual to help tutor students at our after-school STEM program. We're seeking a creative and patient individual to work with a variety of young children who need extra support with their math, reading or science skills. Our after-school tutoring program is run by a highly experienced teaching staff and volunteers like you, who are looking to make a positive impact on the next generation.

OVERVIEW

The Human Resource Director manages all aspects of payroll, benefits, and employment records. This position is responsible for interacting with all faculty and staff to support their needs and answer any questions they may have.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Human Resources

  • Onboard and terminate employees, including all required documentation.
  • Prepare and maintain employment agreements, personnel files, and attendance records.
  • Work with hiring managers to post positions and track applicants.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state labor laws.
  • Schedule and coordinate required anti-harassment training.
  • Update employee handbooks annually.
  • Compensation and Benefits
  • Coordinate payroll processing for bi-weekly payrolls.
  • Manage all employee benefit programs including annual benefits open enrollment and update employee benefits portal with any changes.
  • Maintain Salary & Benefits worksheet that is the basis for annual budgeting and the issuance of employee compensation agreements and addendums.
  • Oversee MCDS 403b Plan contribution and withdrawal transactions. Initiate wire to TIAA bi-weekly for 403b contributions. Prepare for annual 403b audit and regular RPAC meetings.
  • Responsible for all annual reporting and filing including 5500, 1094 & 1095C, CMS/Medicare, and EEO-1.
  • Distribute required employee notifications, including SARs for the 5500s, required annual notices and Medicare Part D.
  • Coordinate leaves of absence, including helping employees understand leave pay and benefits.
  • Prepare materials for workers comp audit.

General

  • Reconciliation to the general ledger: monthly for employee benefit accounts, quarterly for payroll.
  • Assists Controller with the annual audit, including preparation and reconciliation of subsidiary schedules as necessary.
  • As a member of the school community, attend and participate in school meetings during the year.
  • Participates with other school personnel in collaborative efforts; additional projects or responsibilities as assigned
  • Understand and promote the school’s mission of curiosity, empathy, and action, and participate in creating a welcoming culture for all members of the MCDS community.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management preferred.
  • Minimum five years of experience, with emphasis on payroll and human resources, preferably in a non-profit or educational setting
  • Proficient use of Excel and Word
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Detail-oriented, flexible, and organized worker with initiative and ability to work independently.

Compensation is competitive and ranges from $100,000 to $130,000 depending on experience.
