SUMMARY
The Scientist/Engineer/Systems Analyst Intermediate II lead human factors research activities in accordance with the regulatory agency requirements of the Federal Aviation Administration. Serve as a primary researcher and data analyst on aviation human factors research projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following:
- Works as primary researcher on an assigned project with no technical direction.
- Coordinates team activities and participate as a member of a team to:
- Designs experiments, implement experimental procedures, troubleshoot and problem solve.
- Collects data, analyze data, and interpret statistical analyses.
- Serves as a primary researcher and/or analyst on complex, time-sensitive activities.
- Performs literature reviews and annotated bibliographies to inform research.
- Writes reports summarizing findings, present work to research sponsors, peer groups, and novice audiences, as required.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Master level degree in related field and minimum of 6 years demonstrated experience providing project leadership for complex, challenging, and time-sensitive activities. Doctorate degree in related field and minimum 4 years Demonstrated experience providing project leadership for complex, challenging, and time-sensitive activities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Skilled in computer software (Microsoft Office) skills, required.
- Skilled in statistics packages such as Statistic Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), Statistical Analysis Software (SAS), R Studio, required.
- Scientific programming skills (e.g., MATLAB), desired.
- Ability to mentor colleagues and subordinate team members, required.
- Strong communication skills, required.
- Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and background investigation
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in a climate-controlled office setting.
Cherokee Federal has suspended it’s COVID mandate. However it’s important to note that Cherokee Federal employees are included as covered employees in U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, which mandates Covid vaccines for federal contractors. Executive Order 14042 is currently not subject to enforcement by the Federal government. Therefore, Cherokee Federal has suspended application of the mandate and continues to monitor the government’s guidance on administration of any vaccine requirement.
