Overview:
The Retention Support Coordinator works with the VP of Talent Acqusition, Development and Engagement to help engage and retain newly hired DSPs and to ensure that their first year of employment provide a successful launch to their career. The Retention Support Coordinator is responsible for helping the DSP settle into the agency, their workplace, and the local area. The Retention Support Coordinator will ensure that each new employee is met with regularly by a member of the human resources division and will be available to answer questions, provide resources and tools, and insights about the agency.
Responsibilities:
Primary duties and responsibilities unclude but not limited to:

  • Research, design and implement employee retention strategies for first year Direct Support Professionals
  • Serves as an informal resource for the DSP on tasks, policies, procedures, workplace culture, and agency or state regulations.
  • Welcome new DSPs with a welcome packet, a welcome email with details of the Peer Mentor Program and greeting the new hire on their first day of orientation.
  • Facilitates & Coordinates visits at the DSP’s work location within the first month of employment.
  • Serves as communication liaison between the DSP and support departments such as Human Resources, Payroll & other administrative areas.
  • Guide, Explain and encourage DSP participation during orientation process
  • Provides feedback forms and extracts, analyze, and presents data to Director.
  • Connects weekly with the DSP for their first month of employment to begin building a rapport, providing advice, and answering questions.
  • Maintain progress data and performance measurements
  • Meets with applicable managers to identify how the new employee is progressing through their orientation period and determine what areas to focus on utilizing Relias’ skills assessment tool for DSP’s as applicable.
  • Celebrate the completion of 60-, 90- and 120-day milestones with the mentee
  • Photocopies all necessary documents for personnel and recruitment files. Assists with copying and mailing projects, including audit prep
  • Coordinates periodic celebratory events as assigned
  • Responsible for all Public Relations for 1st DSP’s
Performs all other related duties as requested by supervisor
Qualifications:
  • Two- or Four-year college degree required.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office Application Skills required.
  • Strong data analytics skills also desired.
