Job purpose
Responsible for overseeing and managing recruiting, retention, payroll and other projects for the Birchstone Management group.
Duties and responsibilities
  • Commits and transmits payroll on weekly and biweekly cycles.
  • Manages recruiting and on-boarding processes including background screening, Form I-9 and E-Verify compliance, offer letters and other new hire paperwork.
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable Human Resources federal and state requirements.
  • Identifies and implements procedures necessary for recruiting and retention.
  • Manages performance management program and annual review process.
  • Analyzes HR metrics to assist management team in identifying areas of improvement and proposes solutions to problem areas.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding company policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Recommends changes to policy needed for legal compliance.
  • Other duties as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s in HR, Business Administration or related field.
  • Professional license or certification requirements: PHR and/or SHRM-CP preferred.
  • Five years’ experience in HR/Payroll.
  • Strong writing skills to develop business correspondence, policies, procedures, proposals, and other forms of communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Multi-tasking skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to relate to people with diverse ethnic, racial and socioeconomic backgrounds.
