Job Summary:

The HR Manager position is a local HR department leading an HR Generalist and an HR Administrator for a plant with approximately 250 employees. There must be a strong focus on talent attraction, retention, engagement and development. The role reports directly to the Site Director. Locally this role will lead and manage for the assigned site, the global HR processes and programs and the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including but not limited to recruitment and onboarding, performance appraisal, succession planning, employee engagement, compensation and benefits, leaves of absence, governmental compliance and enforcing company policies and practices.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· This role has responsibility to supervise HR department staff.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Leads and manages all global HR processes for the plant each year with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness and continuous improvement.

· Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.

· Provides support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.

· Manages the talent acquisition process, which includes recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants for technical professional and managerial roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

· Conducts and manages new hire orientation.

· Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.

· Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.

· Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

· FMLA and leave of absence management and tracking.

· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

· Member of the local safety team, with responsibility to facilitate meetings and collaborate with corporate safety department on Workman’s compensation.

· Works together with payroll department to ensure accurate payroll processing.

· Will participate in or lead regional HR projects.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

· A minimum of 3 years of experience leading an HR Department for a manufacturing company required

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

· Experience using ADP (Workforce Now) highly desired.

· Experience in SAP Success Factors HRIS (Employee Central, Performance and Goals, Compensation, Recruitment, Succession) highly desired.

· HR project management experience preferred.

· Experience in Agile working methodologies preferred.

· SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to walk through the plant daily

· Must be able to lift 10 pounds at times.

· Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
