HR Responsibilities
· Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
· Provides full support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
· Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings and create succession planning for current staff.
· Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
· Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
· Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
· Manage and maintain IC and EE pulse check and performance reviews.
· Coordinate with international management on recruitment and hiring of international contractors.
· Create policies and procedures for international contractors.
· Assist international relocated employees with housing accommodations.
· Liaison with Immigrations Attorneys for Visa Sponsorship; Coordinate with immigration attorney’s employment sponsorship for international employees (i.e., renewal of visas, green card applications, or international internships).
· Liaison with HR Counsel
Safety Responsibilities
· Create and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
· Advises management of compliance concerns and preventative actions (i.e., COVID-19)
· Plans and implement training for employees.
· Maintains safety files and records (i.e., E-safety)
· Ensures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
· Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
· Conducts employee training on applicable safety standards.
· Review safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
· Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
· Review, develop, evaluate, and upgrade safety programs.
· Work along side with the Project Manager for McFarland construction safety needs
Payroll Responsibilities
· Ensure proper payment of wages and salaries for all staff by ensuring that the in-house payroll system is correctly processing salaries and reported hours worked, correctly utilizing paid leave and holiday pay, correctly accruing compensatory time, and correctly computing overtime.
· Maintain and ensure that our ADP Workforce Now payroll system is working as expected and is in compliance with federal and state laws, rules, and regulations by establishing controls, monitoring results, and collaborating and adapting programming, processing methods, and reporting in response to changes in regulations, withholding rates, reporting needs, etc.
· Oversees and monitors the eligibility to work in the United States and proper tax treatment of wages of international employees.
· Monitor all the control procedures related to the preparation and disbursement of direct deposits of payroll checks.
· Ensure the timely completion of all payroll tax reporting requirements and the issuance of W-2s.
· Responds to all payroll audit requests (i.e., insurance, Federal and State agencies).
· Facilitates employee participation in various voluntary payroll deduction options by processing voluntary deduction forms, which includes verifying employee eligibility and checking the accuracy of completed forms; and by ensuring the authorized deductions are made from employee paychecks and disbursed to the proper agencies and/or companies designated by the employee.
· Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending trainings.
· Facilitates a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

- Bachelor's (Required)
Experience:
- HR Compliance in Ag: 5 years (Required)
- Working knowledge of HR laws and regulations: 5 years (Required)
- Human Resource Management: 5 years (Required)
Language:
- English and Spanish (fluently) (Required)
License/Certification:
- Professional In Human Resources Certification (Preferred)
- Professional In Human Resources (Required)
