Summary
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for supporting the human resources function of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Ohio. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Human Resources Manager will prioritize recruitment, onboarding, retention, coordination of performance reviews, employee feedback, and general employee relations. This position will be physically located at BGCCO Administrative Headquarters.
Responsibilities
- Partners with the senior and extended leadership teams to understand and execute BGCCO’s human resources and performance management strategy as it relates to current and future talents needs.
- Leads the talent acquisition strategy including employment branding, recruitment, screening, interviewing, background/reference checks and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for part-time, direct service employees.
- Assists leadership and management with various aspects of employee engagement including performance management and improvement, employee feedback/engagement surveys, disciplinary actions, recognition programs, professional development, compensation, benefits, and communication.
- Supports leadership, Human Resources Committee and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee in the establishment of uniform policies and procedures and ensuring internal consistency and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, DEI goals, and Boys & Girls Clubs of America members requirements.
- Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations and investigations.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes in human resources, talent management and employment law and utilize this knowledge to make tactical and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Serve as an advisor to the CEO on personnel related strategies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the CEO.

- Understanding of BGCCO’s strategy, programming, and funding priorities.
- Understanding of BGCA membership compliance particularly as it relates to human resources.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable working with database systems.
- Experience with and/or willingness to be trained on Paycor
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to present information concisely and effectively.
- Strong relationship builder.
- Analytical, evaluative, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience
- 3-5 years of human resources experience, 2 years human resources manager preferred
- Formal training and/or certification in human resources preferred (post-secondary degree or training, certification, etc.)

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
