Job Summary
The HR Business Partner is responsible for aligning business objectives between employees and management in the designated business units. This position serves as a consultant to management on human capital-related issues. The successful HRBP acts as an employee champion and change agent while also aligning policies and practices with organizational strategy. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs, communicates needs proactively with the HR Shared Services Team and business management, and seeks to develop integrated solutions. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added services to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture, and its competition.
Reporting to the HR & Corporate Development Director, with a dotted line to the Operating Company Head, the position will work closely with the Leadership Team, be the main point of contact for OpCo management and employees and provide guidance and support on a broad spectrum of HR services related to recruitment, development, employee relations and engagement, performance management, and compensation. The HRBP will also play a critical role in building a strong HR presence in the business and hold a key role in leading and executing HR and business initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provides first-level support for HR Operations in the assigned Operating Company(ies)- Addresses employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns
- Assists business in reaching fair and defensible decisions to resolve employee/labor relations disputes/grievances; ensure management actions and decisions comply with local and federal laws and the union agreement
- Participates in labor negotiations; perform research and prepare information for negotiating team, as required
- Acts as an integral part of the employee management team
- Facilitates and executes Employee Engagement initiatives
- Works hand in hand with the HR Shared Services team ensuring that all business needs are translated and delivered as per agreed KPIs and service level agreements
- Develops effective working relationships with the management team and establishes HR programs which will influence the management team on the effective delivery of their people plans in support of the achievement of their HR Strategies and overall business objectives
- Proactively gains employee feedback to aid the HR function in improving service levels and alert areas where an issue/project may impact employee operations
- Equips key employees with appropriate tools and knowledge to effectively manage their people in line with their people plans e.g., performance management, absence management, career management etc.
- Provides project management support and HR expertise to the business with specific related projects
- Provides personal support on the research, design and development of HR initiatives in support of the HR strategy, using expert knowledge of the employee area.
- Facilitates the creation of an implementation and communication plan into the local business area that achieves the agreed deliverables
- Develops strong and positive reputation as a neutral and approachable HR representative
- Communicates and demonstrates support for HR decisions and initiatives
- Ensures that all Pacific employment functions are in full compliance with federal Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws, and that employees and managers are trained in and supportive of EEO principles of non-discrimination
- Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR Shared Services group to develop solutions, programs, and policies
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risk and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Promote Safety in the Workplace
- Help the center to ensure there are zero accidents in the workplace
Qualifications
Education and Experience- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related discipline; or the equivalent work experience
- Five or more years’ experience in HR operations or management with good business acumen
- Licensure/Certification/Professional Association
- SHRM-CP

Working Conditions
The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but
not necessarily from temperature changes. This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and other such machines and equipment.
Physical Demands

The physical requirements of this position involve sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
For visual acuity requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision, the worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines; using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
The job requires a high level of interpersonal skills for motivating, setting directions, mobilizing teams, coordination, generating commitment and developing people to be able to achieve the objectives the position deals, coordinates and networks with.

This job has supervisory responsibility.
Regular Expected Hours of Work and Travel
Normal office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. However, due to the nature of this position, it may be required to arrive earlier, stay later, or work on weekends.
Travel may be required for this position.
