POSITION SUMMARY:

We are pleased to offer the opportunity to work as a Housekeeper within Edgewater’s Maintenance Department. This position supports our Maintenance Team by providing fresh, clean, sanitary, safe, and attractive facilities and environments. The Housekeeper performs listed duties for assigned areas on a daily basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Housekeeper responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Client’s bathroom, showers, and bathtubs-mop and clean all sinks, toilets, handrails, mirrors, doors, glass, hardware, stalls, curtains, walls, baseboards, and chrome.
• Clients’ living quarter-mop and clean walls and baseboards, dust furniture, and wash when necessary. Must be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized as soon as possible after client has been discharged.
• Clients’ hallways - dust mop (or spot mop) as necessary.
• Staff bathrooms - mop and clean all sinks, toilets, handrails, mirrors, doors, glass, hardware, stalls, curtains, walls, baseboards, and chrome.
• Staff offices - (3) Clean as necessary.
• Glass fixtures - clean all glass fixtures attached to staff doors, hallways, and offices.
• Spot clean as necessary throughout the day - walls, baseboards, glass fixtures.
• Dining area (includes dayroom and dining tables) - cleans and spot mops as necessary after morning and noon meals.
• Floors - responsibilities include daily general floor maintenance, as well as routine stripping, corner, edge, wax, and buffing.
• Corridors - clean and maintain all first-floor corridors including: walls, baseboards, overhead vents, light fixtures, windows, window ledges, blinds, doors, door jams, behind vending machines.
• Dust mop daily.
• Sweep and mop floors.
• Inspect lights, report any burnouts or malfunctions to supervisor.
• Staff Locker rooms - wipe-down from top to bottom of lockers.
• Corridors - clean and maintain all first-floor corridors including: walls, baseboards, overhead vents, light fixtures, windows, window ledges, blinds, doors, door jams, behind vending machines.
• Laundry area - clean washer and dryer; floors - damp mop, strip, wax, and buff as needed.
• Service area - clean elevators and corridors front and back.
• Windows - outside duties (when weather permits) clean windows from the outside around Sun Center.
• Responsible for constant upkeep of patios around each entrance. Entrances (4) - Southwest, Southeast, Northeast, Service Area.
• During inclement weather, keep patios open by removing snow and ice.
• Receive and follow cleaning schedules/instructions from supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

• Ability to tolerate dust and disinfecting solutions.
• Ability to be able to read and understand written instructions/
• Ability to be able to clean and sanitize areas of the facility utilizing Visual Acuity.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education – Highschool diploma or ESE Equivalency

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• A post offer physical is required.
• A pre-employment background check is required.
• Ability to bend, lift thirty-five (35) pounds, push, pull and move intermittently during work hours.
