Job Description
- Opening and closing the Facility on Saturday’s.
- Unloading hazardous waste from customers' vehicles.
- Able to lift and/or move up-to 50lb
- Segregating wastes by hazard classification.
- Using hazardous categorization test methods to characterize unknown waste and determine hazard classification.
- Bulking liquid hazardous and non-hazardous (used antifreeze and motor oil) waste.
- Perform housekeeping duties as assigned
- Packaging hazardous and non-hazardous waste for onsite storage and eventual transport for offsite disposal or recycling.
- Labeling waste containers.
- Completing inventories of wastes stored onsite.
- Assisting in general facility maintenance, and maintaining adequate supplies for facility operation.
- Able to work independently, but also driven by teamwork
- Will be required to stay up-to-date on company monthly/yearly training. Training will be online through company training portal and some will be classroom training.
Qualifications
- High School or GED
- Able to lift and/or move up-to 50lb
- Maintain effective working relationships with participants, city reps and peers
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Provide quality customer service
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
- Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner consistent with procedures and training.
- Position requires high level of situational awareness to ensure own safety and safety of those on site during operations involving site traffic, heavy equipment, hazardous materials and emergency situations.
Preferred qualifications:
- 40 hour HAZWOPER
- 8 hour HAZWOPER Refresher
- DOT Hazardous Materials Training
- Forklift operator training
