The Quality Assurance Specialist is a professional responsible for analyzing data integrity and consistency of OASIS documentation and assessment processes reviews. This position will ensure appropriate ICD-10 coding and sequencing and will work with clinical staff to clarify documentation and data integrity issues. Reviews all OASIS assessments to ensure appropriateness, completeness, and compliance with federal and state regulations.

How you will make an impact!

• Responsible for assisting with the review and processing of OASIS assessments (SOC, ROC, Recerts, Follow Ups) for assigned care centers
• Responsible for maintaining the highest standards of care and complying with all policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
• Receives and reviews patient OASIS assessments for assigned care centers
• Reviews OASIS patient status items compared to other related patient documentation to verify completeness and accuracy
• Assists in evaluating needs of the patient and suggests referrals to other disciplines as indicated by the patient’s needs
• Identifies need for OASIS/documentation education and communicates group needs to care center leadership and Supervisor
• Communicates any delays in processing assessments to Supervisor and care center

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

• The ideal candidate must possess a strong attention to detail and experience working within a highly regulated industry
• One (1) year QA experience within the last five (5) years.
• Case Management experience.
• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
• OASIS certified (COS-D1) required within the last 5 years.
• Diagnosis coding experience/certification

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

• Working knowledge of CMS Condition of Participation in Home Health Services is required
• Able to effectively communication with clinical, non-clinical staff, providers, and or outside organizations.
• Able to demonstrate skill in quality assurance review process.
• Able to demonstrate skills in consultation, collaboration and systems management.
• Working knowledge of federal and state home health licensure regulations is required
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, compliance, and reimbursement guidelines are required
• Sound computer skill and adaptability to home health documentation software is a must

ADA Specifications:

• Able to constantly travel within geographic area serviced by office from assignment to assignment.
• Work is normally performed in a residence, aggregate living facility, school or occupational setting.
• Heavy physical activity that may require lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling over 50 lbs., and physically stretching, bending, stooping, twisting, standing, sitting, walking, reaching and climbing stairs.
