Evergreen Dermatopathology has an exciting opportunity for a histology technician to join our growing team as we open a full service histology laboratory located in Liberty Lake, WA. Our ideal candidate is a motivated, detail oriented and experienced histology technician, who is interested in growing with us through our mission to become the premier dermatopathology provider of the Inland Northwest.

The histology technician will be responsible for performing all routine histology procedures including grossing, embedding, microtomy and staining of dermatology specimens to aid our team of dermatopathologists in diagnosis. The position requires the ability to multitask, assess priorities appropriately, and work well independently and as part of a team.

Hours: 6:00 am – 2:30 pm, M-F

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Grossing of dermatology specimens
• Embed tissue blocks (50 blocks/hour)
• Perform routine microtomy and staining of dermatology specimens (20 blocks/hour)
• Perform special stains & immunohistochemistry
• Follow protocol for reagent preparation
• Maintain equipment, instruments, and supplies as needed
• Maintain knowledge of current CLIA & other regulatory requirements
• Assist in providing leadership and operational oversight
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Skills and Abilities

• Two years of experience as a histotechnologist

Education/Certifications

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in science related field
• HT or HTL ASCP certified or successful completion of Histology Technician training program is preferred

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
