Who is an Equality Teacher?

Qualifications: ELL Certification Required

The ELL Teacher is a school-specific assignment to span all grade levels within the building.

Main Duties:

• Teach a daily ESOL class to beginning ELLs
• Push into/co-teach mainstream classes with high number of beginning ELLs
• Oversee all ELL caseloads
• Oversee non-teaching needs of ELL program (e.g., NYSESLAT, NYSITELL, ELL recruitment)
• Assist general education teachers with ELL support questions and needs
