Position Description:

The Health Sciences Center Office of Diversity and Inclusion Program Coordinator Senior will manage and oversee the day to day needs of the pre-health student development initiatives. The Program Coordinator Senior will focus on the development and coordination of key support programs, services, workshops, resources and events. This position is responsible for actively recruiting for enrichment programs, creating marketing materials, and providing holistic coaching for underrepresented pre-health students. The Program Coordinator Senior will work closely with campus and community stakeholders to establish resources and support services and coordinator campus experiences for underrepresented pre-health students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Campus Outreach, Collaborative Partnerships, Programming
  • Coordinate workshops, events, services, resources and programming that deepens the understanding of diverse pathways and the essential skills based on holistic review practices for underrepresented students pursuing careers in the health professions.
  • Coordinate student's participation in professional development conferences (e.g., SNMA, LSMA) and visits to regional health professions schools.
  • Support student enrichment and pipeline programs, test programs, etc.
Advising, Coaching and Recruitment
  • Provide holistic advising and coaching that prioritizes students' knowledge of the pre-health pathways and specific skill-building.
  • Facilitate referrals as appropriate.
  • Recruit students to participate in summer enrichment programs, conduct information sessions, and organize and attend key recruitment conferences.
  • Advocate for the admission of underrepresented students at UofL health professions schools and programs
Administrative
  • Recruit, train, and supervise interns and student workers.
  • Create marketing materials for programming, manage social media accounts, and conduct PR campaigns.
  • Conduct program evaluations and produce individual event reports as well as semester participation reports for designated programs.
  • Track student short term and long-term educational outcomes to determine impacts of pre-health student development initiatives.
  • Stay up to date on current trends of underrepresented, first generation, rural and/or low-income college students pursuing careers in the health professions.
Competencies
  • Knowledge of pre-health requirements, admission processes, holistic review process, and student development theories.
  • Strong organizational skills needed.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Suites, Google Drive, Google Docs, OneDrive, Canva, etc.
  • Advanced verbal/written communication
  • Experience advising and supporting underrepresented populations.
Target Compensation Maximum:

$31.71

Target Compensation Minimum:

$17.84

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
