Families and Communities Rising, Inc. (FCR, Inc.) is a nonprofit organization that has provided early education and resources to families for over 50 years! FCR Head Start/Early Head Start programs are currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated early childhood educators to join our team in locations throughout Durham and Orange Counties.

The Health & Nutrition Specialist coordinates health services including Nutrition services as prescribed in the Head Start Performance Standards. This includes training parents and staff on various aspects of health, nutrition and oral health for center-based children and families as well as partner centers.Plan with the leadership team to ensure completion of designated screenings and provide follow-up as required. Determine and track that each child and family has an ongoing source of continuous and accessible health care. Determine if each child is on an appropriate immunization schedule and gather vaccination records for each child. Maintain, order and distribute health, nutrition, dental and safety supplies to all centers as required. Participate in Health Services Advisory Committee meetings.

This is a Full-time 12-month position. FCR offers a generous benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, Voluntary Life insurance and Flexible Spending Account.
