About the Role
We are seeking a Head of People to lead the development and execution of our People Strategy, to build a world-class, high performing organization dedicated to our mission and committed to our values and to position our talent as a key, sustainable differentiator for Hopscotch. The Head of People will lead experienced and talented teams executing on Talent Acquisition and People Operations to drive success against broader organizational objective and to accelerate growth and scalability of business, while executing to deliver on key objectives within the People organization.
Specific responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Develop Innovative People strategies and plans (short-term and long-term) based on the Hopscotch Strategy, key priorities, and short- and long-term company and department goals, objectives plans to achieve
- Lead with deep understanding of and commitment to rural communities, patients and providers will be a key aspects of this focus
- Execute against a People Roadmap based on key priorities for Hopscotch including the build and management of core People capabilities and the underpinning systems/processes:
- Talent Acquisition
- Employee Experience (including on-boarding)
- Culture and Employee Engagement
- Performance Management
- Total Rewards - Compensation and Benefits
- Learning and Development
- Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging
- Compliance
- Employee Relations
- Partner with the senior leadership team and engage the entire organization to drive the Hopscotch culture, employee experience and employee engagement, on the Corporate team as well as on Market teams
- Support, retain, and mentor a People team to deliver results against key priorities, support the success and scale of the broader organization and 'set the curve' for culture at Hopscotch
- Build and manage our 'engine' to recruit, engage, develop and retain physicians and providers and other care team members as a foundational capability to transform rural healthcare
The Head of People is a critical hire to lead our passionate, skilled, and committed team at Hopscotch as we work to achieve our big and important mission. This position is Chicago-based, with a 3 day a week, in-office requirement.
About You
You'll be a great fit for this position if you have 10-12+ years of combined experience across strategic consulting, people/talent AND operational experience and 5+ years managing teams in a healthcare company. SHRM certification preferred but not required.
You also have a proven track record demonstrating:
- Success in building capability/process and driving results in a high-growth, fast-paced organization, managing to success through scale and change
- Strength in execution, a drive for results and a commitment to excellence, accountability and follow-through using robust organizational skills, program management, collaboration and communication
- Strategic thinking, including the ability to develop robust insights from various sources, grounded in data and objective analysis, with the ability to make concrete recommendations and outline clear action steps to enable results.
- Articulate and succinct communication, including complex concepts, verbally and in writing, and use synthesized communications to drive execution and results.
- High EQ and a collaborative and trust-driven working style to quickly build relationships, internally and externally, to enable our work and culture.
- Executive presence and organization to partner with a team of senior leaders (including C-suite and BOD level) to articulate strategies and plans and ultimately achieve success, growth and results against our mission and vision.
- Comfort with dynamic and sometimes ambiguous settings, showing the skill to bring a structured, proactive approach to prioritize and execute in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to learn quickly and leverage critical thinking and perseverance to take initiatives, solve problems, operate with autonomy and succeed in high-pressure situations.
- Willingness to act with courage, lean into conflict and foster the 'tough' conversations that need to happen to support our culture and success together
