This position is located in Geismar, LA and is not available for remote work.
What you will do:
Be responsible for Safety and Security Oversite of the Gypsum Stack and Lime Treatment Operations- Provide technical guidance and support for maintenance contractor work of the Gypsum Stack
- Manage Lime Treatment Operator duties through contract supervisor, including shift scheduling, overtime approval, safety, and operational training
- Assist with troubleshooting Lime Treatment areas
- Manage Lime Inventory including auditing invoices
- Be responsible for implementation and logging of inspections, monitoring, and maintenance of the Gypsum Stack and Lime Treatment equipment including mowing, reseeding, fertilizing, repair(s) of final covering and impoundment
- Coordinate operation, inspection, and maintenance of pumps and equipment for leachate and surface water management and water treatment systems
- Coordinate surface water and water treatment monitoring and sampling
- Review and manage contractor headcount and adjust accordingly per job scope requirements
- Assess the facility contractors’ ability to perform the required work safely and efficiently
- Review the contractors’ site safety plans, processes, and supervision for work within our facility, verify that the contractors working within our facility are qualified, licensed, and authorized to carry out the work being performed
- Be responsible for signing and tracking timesheets for contractors working on-site
- Review cost for work being performed and change order management to P.O.’s
- Train, develop, and motivate the Maintenance and Operations team to contribute to department and company goals, appraising each in a timely manner concerning their contribution. Provide a positive work environment to promote greater individual and team productivity.
- Be responsible for working with the proper groups for Gypsum Stack road maintenance and repairs
- Review CMMS Work Orders for proper planning, materials, and scheduling conflicts
- Be responsible for interfacing with Outside Equipment Vendors and Contractors to ensure scope and develop timely resolutions of problems
- Be responsible for the review and completion of work orders on a daily and weekly basis as required
- Review and ensure the material and equipment required for each job scope is correct
- Review the Weekly Schedule and ensure that all resources are available
- Review existing work plans and develop new work plans and standards for repetitive jobs
- Assist in root cause failure identification
- Work after-hours as plant needs dictate
- Perform all other duties, responsibilities, and activities that may change at any time with or without notice
What you will bring:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required- Bachelors or Associates degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Engineering Technology or Construction Management, or related work experience is preferred
- Maintenance, construction, and/or Maintenance Supervisory experience in a chemical manufacturing operation or extensive related field experience
- Chemical Plant Operations experience preferred
- Knowledge in craft skills
- Ability to Formulate/Read Sketches, drawings, and specifications
- Ability to interpret OEM Technical and Service Manuals
- Ability to understand Isometric drawing’s, diagrams, and other sketches to communicate needs of the job
- A valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company standards and its insurers
- Ability to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential) as issued by TSA (Transportation Security Administration) is required
- Excellent oral and written communication and teamwork
- Ability to effectively communicate, orally (face to face and by telephone) and in writing, with coworkers, contractors, government officials, and Senior Management
- Ability to read and understand written material including use and understanding of basic numerical calculations, safety rules and operations instructional guides and procedure manuals
- Basic math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to accept direction and work effectively & cooperatively with other people
- Proficiency in MS office and MS Excel is preferred
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in protected areas at heights
- Ability to reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- Ability to hear and smell for deficiencies or hazards
- Ability to work extended workdays, weekends, and holidays as needed and required
- Ability to work with a team, take direction from management, work required schedule, focus on attention to details, and follow work rules
- Ability to respond to call-outs as assigned
