Job Description

Hardwick Elementary School is seeking a 1.0 FTE Guidance Counselor who has a desire to contribute to a strong school culture that focuses on academic excellence, accountability, and a positive learning environment for students, faculty, families, and community. The successful candidate will work as part of a Professional Learning Community to support our initiatives including Sustainability, Educating Children Outdoors, Restorative Practices, and building an effective MTSS.

Hardwick is located in the rural, beautiful Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Our school has a strong farm to school program through a collaborative effort with farmers, local organizations, and parents. Students are exposed to place-based, experiential learning, and the arts in our community. Hardwick Elementary has a strong partnership with the Center for an Agricultural Economy (based in Hardwick), North Branch Nature Center, and a multitude of farms and businesses.

Job Requirements

  • Vermont Agency of Education endorsement 1-64 in School Counseling. Applicants with the ability to transfer an out-of-state license, or the eligibility to obtain a Provisional License, will also be considered.

    Attendance at the OSSU New Staff Orientation, August 18 and 21, 2023.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Master degree preferred
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
