About us
In 1994, a vegan pioneer and chef with a strong passion for great food and animal welfare opened the first Native Foods in Palm Springs CA. Soon word of fresh-made Tempeh and Seitan and delicious plant-based creations spread across Southern California and before we knew it, we had customers trekking in from Los Angeles, orange county and snowbirds from Canada and Chicago too! They were surprised and delighted at the world inspired flavors of Native cuisine. Luckily, they told and friend who told and friend who brought a car with loads of friends and we became a regular dot on the map for locals and visitors. In 2010, we teamed up with a group of passionate investors to expand Native Foods throughout Southern California, Chicago and Colorado. Next, we are expanding to Missouri with our first location in Clayton opening in July of 2023.
We are professional, agile, innovative and our goal is to make a difference every day, one person and one plant- based meal at a time. We do this by bringing vegetables forward, celebrating plants in their natural form, and using them in delicious and creative ways, to unleash flavor.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Possess the ability to complete and delegate the setup/breakdown of the entire restaurant, including inside and outside furniture, rugs, condiments, bathrooms, table displays, bubblers, etc. Ensure all furniture and equipment is maintained properly and stays in excellent working order. Properly delegate and verify the cleaning of all equipment during the shift.
- Demonstrate a complete understanding of starting and ending a day with the Point of Sale System. Perform all discounting, report printing, Team Member drawer assignment, item availability, and all other related tasks necessary for the shift. All orders can be facilitated from walk-in Guests, phone orders, third party tablet orders, and online orders flawlessly.
- Count drawers and petty cash to par levels. Understand what the cash par levels are and can facilitate daily bank deposits without shortages or error.
- Properly turn on/off all equipment and demonstrate precise knowledge of the proper settings and temperature levels.
- A comprehensive understanding of the food preparation guides, cooling log book, Coinspect, schematics guides, and all other logs and guides provided by Native Foods. Coach the proper use and stress the importance of all logs and guides related to the restaurant.
- Perform a proper shift kitchen inspection from start to finish, including line checks, equipment checks, and Team Member visual inspections. Demonstrate a familiarity with the most crucial and difficult areas to maintain cleanliness. Ensure that these checks are being performed multiple times throughout a shift.
- Knowledge of exactly how dishes are to be prepared to the highest standard set forth by Native Foods, and how to prepare them in a safe and timely manner. Able to check the temperature of all items and ingredients, and verify that they are cooked to and/or stored at temperatures outside of the “Temperature Danger Zone”.
- Instill the ethics of proper food storage throughout the restaurant. Continually coach proper food storage and sanitation, and verify that policies are being followed. Human Resources
- All Team Members and Guests are treated with respect.
- No human rights violations exist in the restaurant.
- Resolve Guest and Team Member situations in a timely manner and adhere to all rules and regulations.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
