PAY: $20.00

This position carries a hiring bonus of $1500.00, payable in equal installments at three, six, and twelve months of employment.

“This bonus is only available to new, external hires to Pine Street Inn, including temporary staff who are thereafter converted to permanent employment status. This bonus is not available to Pine Street Inn staff or paid interns or paid co-op students who are seeking a transfer to this role. This bonus is only payable for work actually performed in this role. Employees who leave their position before they have worked all the time required for each bonus installment will not be eligible to collect further payment for their prior position, even if they stay at Pine Street Inn in another position.”

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:

The Groundskeeper will be responsible for daily, weekly and monthly grounds cleaning schedules provided by the supervisor at Pine Street Inn. This position is considered essential for the Grounds Person as part of the maintenance personnel.

DESCRIPTION:

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to read and fully understand printed labels and instructions
• A valid Mass driver’s license in good standing

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

• A minimum of two (2) years of institutional or commercial industrial cleaning, grounds keeping, landscaping or light construction
• Ability to operate cleaning, landscape and snow removal equipment for maintenance

PHYSICAL ABILITIES/SKILLS:

• Frequent bending, standing, stooping, stretching and walking
• The ability to lift 50 pounds alone or 100 pounds assisted

MENTAL ABILITIES/SKILLS:

• Must be able to work independently

• Must have the ability to use snow/leaf/ blower, steam cleaners and brooms, snow tractor

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Responsible for daily grounds keeping
• Cleaning all outside areas that are to be used by the guest programs
• Perform special projects throughout the year (painting and landscaping)
• Maintain and keep all storage sheds in proper order
• Follow prescribed cleaning methods and formulas of the supervisor
• Power washing grounds, parks, and parking lot
• Painting fences
• Trimming bushes and maintaining flower beds
• Assist in maintenance projects and various function set-ups
• Must be available to work over time as needed for special events and snow removal
• Report any follow up maintenance needed on grounds equipment.
