Summary

Viwinco is searching for a Glass Value Stream Manager to join the operations leadership team in our Morgantown, PA headquarters! This role will lead Viwinco’s Glass operations following lean principles in our new state-of-the-art building fit with best in class technology and equipment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead a successful team to operate a multi-shift, state of the art glass processing value stream
  • Be the leader for the value stream in safety and quality. Lead proactive activities within value stream to develop a culture of safety and quality first.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments and team members to ensure superior service is delivered. Foster strong relationships with other departments and value streams
  • Develop organization and team capable of ensuring on time customer deliveries.
  • Coach, mentor and train direct reports and all value stream employees to manage their teams for acceptable levels of safety, quality, delivery and productivity
  • To meet critical company goals, focus on proactive improvement of processes. Flow down expectations and accountability to supervisor team to enable
  • Lead the Gemba process for the value stream ensuring up to date metrics and effective monitoring of corrective actions for variances. Monitor hour by hour production and escalate issues found to Director of Operations with remedy
  • Ensure compliance of key process quality checks to ensure expected quality of product to industry and customer standards
  • Lead problem solving and root cause analysis of value stream related customer feedback complaints. Ensure robust solutions preventing further issues
  • Continually monitor capacity using data models and quickly design required changes related to growth
  • Support development and identify training needs of direct reports and production personnel to ensure ability to meet customer and company goals. Support as necessary the development of training documents which enable quality goals are met with high levels of efficiency. Focus on retention of associates to minimize turnover which can impact operational excellence
  • Implement lean manufacturing practices. Lead or participate in Kaizens and own the implementation of actions to the value stream. Kaizens expected to be completed on all processes in strategic order. Implement 5S and visual factory principals
  • Own the entire current state to future state transformation of respective value stream, ensure robust communication to bring employees to a positive change

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Management, Business Administration or relevant field of study
  • 10+ years of progressive management/ leadership experience with at 5 – 7 years of that experience leading teams through Lean Manufacturing processes and practical applications
  • Proven track record of implementing effective and sound Environmental Health & Safety programs and practices
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to develop a team of problem solvers
  • Ability to manage projects and work under tight timelines and meet deadlines. Ability to multitask is a must
  • Ability to manage, collaborate with, and inspire a wide range of people
  • Expert analytical skills
  • Ability to identify route causes and implement corrective actions
