The Marlborough Tavern is seeking to hire a General Manager to oversee all staff, budgets and operations of the local business unit. General Manager responsibilities include formulating overall strategy, managing people and establishing policies. To be successful in this role, you should be a thoughtful leader and a confident decision-maker, helping our people develop and be productive, while ensuring our profits are on the rise. Ultimately, you’ll help our company grow and thrive.
About You: Our candidate for this position will believe in leading by example and having a positive influence on employee behavior and staff morale. The GM is expected to appear polished and professional at all times yet approachable to staff members and guests. Candidate should possess excellent communication skills and always appear calm and composed especially in high pressure situations. A natural leader while still acting as a team player; always willing to roll up his or her sleeves to help wherever is needed. He or she should be a knowledgeable restaurant professional, dedicated to their career, passionate about food and genuinely invested in creating extraordinary guest experiences.
THE REQUIREMENTS:
*Minimum 4 years in a salaried management experience in a high volume, upscale casual to fine dining environment.
*Experience with catering and or booking private events is a bonus with opportunity for advancement.
*Ability to recruit, train and develop a qualified staff and execute extreme guest satisfaction.
*Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the business, to show increased sales and maximize profitability.
*Ability to multitask in a high volume environment while maintaining service standards.
*can help create systems, structure, and tools to support organized growth
*Posses Leadership skills. Ability to teach, coach and develop a team, understanding that their success is your success.
*Computer Skills and Knowledgeable working with POS system such as Toast
*Ability to work a flexible schedule including some nights and weekends
*bar tending and serving experience is a PLUS.
