Job description

Hicks Nurseries, the largest garden center on Long Island, has openings for General Labor in our Receiving and Nursery Yard.

Positions are seasonal with up to 40 hours per week through end of June.

The right person will be skilled with:

• Ability to work inside and outside in all weather conditions.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks throughout the shift
• Ability to push carts, pull items off of shelves, lift minimum of 50 lbs
• Ability to work on a team
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and in all weather and temperature conditions
• Ability to load/unload plants/trees/shrubs from trucks, into customer vehicles,
• Ability to remove and restock inventory
• Ability to maintain cleanliness and safety of equipment and the facility
• Ability to work collaboratively with all departments on a regular basis
• May be trained on forklift depending on the position
