We are seeking a Receptionist & Marketing Person to join our expanding Art Teaching team! The Artist Lab is a creative Fine Arts studio located in Carmel Valley, San Diego with Drawing & Painting and Mixed Media Programs teaching educational art classes to children and adults. Unlike other traditional art studios, we take a more contemporary approach to diverse art mediums and create fine art. We are looking for someone to help us with sales and expanding enrollment. As long as this candidate can be successful in marketing and sales, all other details can be learned. Training will be provided.

This person has to be highly skilled in Inter-personal network skills, talking to customers and students’ parents, and building and retaining communities of clients. This person must have graphic design skills to design flyers and needs some art knowledge to be able to discuss art classes, art events, and sales. We are looking for someone who can collaborate with our lead teachers to plan, organize, and execute promotional events and seasonal workshops.

This candidate must be very organized, precise, and detail-oriented who double checks for errors. Experience in WordPress, Google-Doc, and online mass mailing-system preferred. This person needs to be tech savvy and be able to learn our Pike payment and enrollment system. You must be able to honestly handle enrollment payments, process credit-cards, collect checks & money, record all payments into the system, and report to the owner.

This candidate must be strong in social skills and interactions to work with both students, parents, and teachers to arrange classes & schedules in an effective and friendly way. You will be responsible for picking up phone-calls to reschedule appointments, communicate, and notify all teachers involved.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answer Phone Calls, make Appointments, and Rearrange Reschedules.
  • Record and Communicate with all Teachers and Parents/Students involved in Schedules and daily changes.
  • Process Payments on Pike System, collect checks, or cash (record & report daily incomes)
  • Using Graphic Design programs like Photoshop and Canva to design and print flyers and advertisements.
  • Introduce different promotions and pass out flyers to parents, potential customers, put on cars, businesses, mailboxes, and homes.
  • Network with other potential businesses to do events or promote to help expand and grow our sales.
  • Responsible for successful marketing using social media (Google Business Page, Yelp, Instagram, Facebook, website, etc), to help us promote and advertise. (Or any other forms of marketing you can suggest and bring to the team).
  • Responsible for increasing our sales and enrollment and retaining clientele.
  • Responsible for helping to clean up the studio and help set up for events and all necessary team tasks.
  • Responsible for running errands and performing all necessary front-desk and studio tasks to support the Owner, Teaching Team, and Students.
  • You will be an Administrative Assistant responsible for supporting our team in all administrative ways.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Bilingual in English and Mandarin is preferred. Willing to work on weekends. Previous knowledge and experience of art, marketing, sales, and receptionist front-desk preferred. Must be willing to be active to advertise, promote, post, and network for our classes and contribute to expanding our clientele.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
