Job Title: Front Desk Agent

Job Summary: We are seeking a friendly and customer-oriented Front Desk Agent to join our team at our boutique hotel located in the Catskill Mountains in Woodstock, New York. As a Front Desk Agent, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to guests, checking guests in and out, handling reservations, and ensuring a positive guest experience.

Responsibilities:

• Greet guests and provide them with a warm welcome upon arrival
• Register guests and assign rooms, accommodating special requests whenever possible
• Assist guests with inquiries and provide information about the hotel, its services, and the surrounding area
• Handle reservations over the phone, by email, and in person
• Ensure that guest check-ins and check-outs are smooth and efficient
• Manage cash and credit card payments accurately and efficiently
• Maintain accurate records of guest accounts and transactions
• Address and resolve guest complaints and issues promptly and professionally
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front desk area
• Collaborate with other departments, such as housekeeping and maintenance, to ensure guest needs are met
• Upsell hotel amenities and services to guests as appropriate
• Provide recommendations for local attractions, restaurants, and activities
• Maintain knowledge of current hotel promotions, events, and local news

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in hospitality or related field preferred
• 1-2 years of customer service or front desk experience in a hotel or hospitality environment preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills and experience with hotel reservation software (e.g., Opera, Fidelio)
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Passion for hospitality and a desire to provide exceptional service to guests.

Candidate must have means of transportation to get to and from work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Night shift
• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Woodstock, NY 12498: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Education:

• Associate (Required)

Experience:

• Customer service: 2 years (Preferred)
• Hospitality: 2 years (Required)
