Job Title: Front Desk Agent
Job Summary: We are seeking a friendly and customer-oriented Front Desk Agent to join our team at our boutique hotel located in the Catskill Mountains in Woodstock, New York. As a Front Desk Agent, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to guests, checking guests in and out, handling reservations, and ensuring a positive guest experience.
Responsibilities:
- Greet guests and provide them with a warm welcome upon arrival
- Register guests and assign rooms, accommodating special requests whenever possible
- Assist guests with inquiries and provide information about the hotel, its services, and the surrounding area
- Handle reservations over the phone, by email, and in person
- Ensure that guest check-ins and check-outs are smooth and efficient
- Manage cash and credit card payments accurately and efficiently
- Maintain accurate records of guest accounts and transactions
- Address and resolve guest complaints and issues promptly and professionally
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front desk area
- Collaborate with other departments, such as housekeeping and maintenance, to ensure guest needs are met
- Upsell hotel amenities and services to guests as appropriate
- Provide recommendations for local attractions, restaurants, and activities
- Maintain knowledge of current hotel promotions, events, and local news
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in hospitality or related field preferred
- 1-2 years of customer service or front desk experience in a hotel or hospitality environment preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills and experience with hotel reservation software (e.g., Opera, Fidelio)
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Passion for hospitality and a desire to provide exceptional service to guests.
Candidate must have means of transportation to get to and from work.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Night shift
- Weekend availability
