Job Title: Front Desk Associate
We are currently reviewing applications for a future opening within the next few weeks. Please do not call the front desk to inquire, we need to keep the lines open for our guests. We will reach out to applicants that we are interested in, once we are ready to begin interviews.
We will prioritize applicants who finish the assessments and interview questions.
Job Summary: Represents the hotel to the guest throughout all stages of the guest’s stay by working with all hotel personnel to ensure every guest experience superior customer care.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Answering multi-line phone, taking messages, transferring calls, acting as gatekeeper etc.
- Maintaining an inventory of vacancies, reservations, and room assignments. Assigning rooms based on varying factors.
- Creating, cancelling, and editing reservations and registering guests.
- Following Check In/Check Out procedures.
- Verifying, obtaining and protecting guest and employee information.
- Maintaining and protecting the privacy of guests and co-workers.
- Offering Rewards Membership and promotion sign ups.
- Familiarity with room types and amenities. Upselling rooms.
- Processing credit/debit payments and cash handling.
- Managing and resolving all guest complaints and special requests in a professional and courteous manner.
- Running, Printing & Saving Reports
- Maintaining front desk area and lobby.
- Stocking supplies.
- Communicating with and assisting other departments as needed.
- Coordinating room status updates with the housekeeping department by notifying housekeeping of all check-outs, late check-outs, early check-ins, special requests etc.
- Coordinating guest room maintenance requests by creating work orders.
- Set-up and clean-up for Manager's Reception.
- Selling and serving alcoholic beverages during Manager's Reception.
- Verifying Age and following alcohol related protocols.
- Reporting any unusual occurrences or requests to the Management team and maintaining a daily log for communication between shifts.
- Communicating via Email and Text Message with Management and co-workers during shift.
- Maintaining a high level of professional appearance and demeanor.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Reports directly to the Front Office Manager
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous hotel-related experience preferred.
- Other Front Desk/Receptionist/Customer Service experience helpful.
- Skilled in the use of front office equipment.
- Knowledge of proper telephone etiquette.
- Knowledge of surrounding areas and local events.
- Typing (20+ WPM preferred) and Data Entry Skills
Job Requirements
- Ability to communicate with public, hotel staff, and management in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to properly and accurately secure guest information through verbal, written and digital communication.
- Ability to learn and follow safety, emergency, and accident prevention policies and procedures.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays and be punctual for assigned shifts.
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Standing or sitting for 8-12 hours.
- Reaching, bending, lifting/pushing/pulling (up to 25lbs regularly).
- Ability to read and speak english fluently.
- Ability to work with and view computers for long periods.
- Ability to work alone for extended periods of time.
- Ability to type and perform repetitive motions which include bending and flexing the wrists and fingers, throughout shift.
- Ability to clock in and out digitally (Almost everything we do is digital)
- Ability to pass a drug test for illegal substances
- Ability to troubleshoot and make informed decisions with little to no supervision
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $13.85 - $14.00 per hour
