Who we are looking for
Re:Car is looking for an energetic, organized, experienced Front Camera Module Release Engineer to join our growing team. Re:Car is a new US Electric Vehicle company transforming the battery electric vehicle space. Our technology is designed to deliver the most reliable and most efficient low cost of ownership electric vehicle on the market.
What you get to do
The Front Camera Module Release Engineer will develop the requirements and manage the Tier 1 suppliers for Front Camera module and other features listed in the Program Description Letter.
This Engineer will report to the Head of Electrical and will be responsible for driving the development of the electrical display requirements for all of the Re:Car battery electric vehicles. The Engineer will be challenged to develop unique solutions for camera systems for a non-traditional vehicle. Responsibilities will be broad in scope and complex requiring creativity, superior initiative, good judgement, and leadership skills. This is a hands-on position that will also require leadership of Tier 1 suppliers.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop functional requirements for front camera module including interfaces, diagnostics, and fault detection protocol.
- Develop and document test plans for the required front camera module.
- Release the control module(s) Part Numbers in the Product Lifecycle Management system and maintain release levels as the design matures.
- Lead DFMEA reviews to identify technical risks and drive the controls logic in order to improve detection and reduce potential failures of the design
- Review hardware design with cross functional teams to ensure the hardware meets requirements.
- Train technicians and troubleshooters on the theory of operations and controls logic behind each sub-system and component
- Work with HIL/SIL Validation Engineers to develop test plans to ensure the design meets program requirements. Iterate as issues are uncovered.
- Implement and maintain cyber-security best practices to ensure robust customer and corporation protection over the lifecycle
- Utilize LEAN Engineering methodologies throughout
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical and Electronics or Computer Software Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program is preferred.
- 5 years relevant experience
- Hands on / detail oriented
- Comfortable working with low voltage and high voltage systems
- Excellent communication Team building and relationship building skills.
- Specific experience including
- Opened and closed loop control systems for sensors, actuators, body controller, ECUs, etc.
- Low voltage components such as circuit breakers, relays, wiring, etc.
- High voltage components such as DCDC, motor and inverter, battery, and on-board charger, etc.
- CAN-Bus, LIN, and Ethernet communication protocol
- MATLAB, Simulink, and State flowchart
- 8D, five whys, and fishbone process to diagnose complex issues
- Industry standards such as FMVSSS, NHTSA, DOT, NFPA, SAE, NEC, etc.
