We produce hardwood veneer and plywood. We have manufacturing facilities in Petoskey, Michigan and Oconto Falls, Wisconsin.

We are currently searching for a full-time, year round Forklift Operator for our Petoskey, Michigan location. In this position, you will be running industrial forklifts to control the flow of raw and finished materials to and from the manufacturing lines in order to ensure that the production process is maximized. This means that you will be responsible for ensuring that the production line always has raw materials in front of it, that the finished product at the end of the line is removed safely and quickly so as not to slow down production, and that all inventory is organized to maximize efficiency. You may also be unloading and loading trucks as well.

The work environment is fast-paced and over time a high level of expertise can be developed along with the ability to spot and correct errors. Ideal candidates will have a strong sense of safety and the ability to perform all tasks in a safe, proficient manner, while understanding the importance of delivering a high quality, finished product.

Duties:

• Operate forklifts in a safe and responsible manner that abides by all company procedures and OSHA standards
• Maintain equipment through daily inspections and cleanliness
• Load/unload production lines and machines
• Load/unload trucks as needed
• Transport and stack pallets
• Inspect finished products for quality related issues
• Package, label, and transport finished products
• Learn and perform other production related duties as needed

Qualifications:

• Be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Experience of 2 years forklift driving
• Preferred experience loading and unloading trucks
