Food Runner Job Description

Title: Food Runner

Reports to: Restaurant Manager

Summary of Position:

Food Runners are in charge of setting up all food, making sure food is at or above all of Clive’s Roadhouses expectations, and bringing out the food to the correct tables. You are also responsible for keeping Clive’s clean and presentable for all customers, helping out any staff when in need of assistance, the upkeep of your area in the kitchen, stock all sauces to pars that are set, and making sure all products are fresh and rotated.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Be able to communicate and understand English.
• Possess excellent basic math skills and have the ability to operate Micros system.
• Must have customer-orientated approach and patience along with excellent people skills.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Understand completely all policies, procedures, standards,
  specifications, and guidelines.
• Be on the floor in full uniform, smile included, with a positive attitude, a thorough understanding of the day’s specials or any product changes & special events, and ready to go 5 minutes before scheduled time.
• Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service at all times.
• Serve hot food while it’s hot and cold food while they are cold. To accomplish this we must be efficient and team work oriented.
• If your section is slow, help your fellow staff members, stock a side station, wipe a countertop, clean a window… prepare the restaurant for the busy time we know is coming soon!! Be aware of what’s going on around you.
• To set-up up food according to Clive’s guidelines
• To make sure all food is correct according to server ticket and menu guidelines.
• To run all food to correct tables
• Making sure all food is cooked in a timely manner
• Assist servers in any duties necessary including opening and closing procedures.
• Check bathrooms at least once per hour to ensure cleanliness and full levels of paper towels and toilet paper.
• Making sure all items are stocked to correct par levels and rotated according to the dates
• Expo station organization and stocked: To-go supplies, plates, glassware, spoons, knives and clean towel.
• Complete daily cleaning duties
• Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations that pertain to health and safety.
