SUMMARY:
Flower care technician/Grounds keeper, must be self-motivated and able to work alone or in a team. Must be able to quickly learn job duties and carry them out with minimal supervision. Work to maintain and keep Snowbasin Flowerbeds, Flower Boxes and Flower Baskets watered and in excellent condition, meeting the high standards this company expects. Work with other departments coordinating their event schedules with the Flower care and grounds keeping tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned):
1. Flower Care including Watering, Deadheading, Weeding all Flowers beds and other Flower containers.
2. Trimming and Pruning Bushes and Trees.
3. Apply Fertilizers, Herbicides and Insecticides
4. Mowing, Trimming, and Turf Repair
5. Irrigation and Irrigation repair
6. Equipment Operation

EQUIPMENT USED:
Hand Tools including Shears, Pruning Loppers, Weed Pulling Devices, Shovels, Rakes, etc.…
Spreaders and Sprayers, Riding and Push Mowers, String line Trimmers, Edger’s, Aerators, Tillers
Trucks, ATV’s, Tractors, Front End Loader, Fork Lifts, Irrigation Timers, and Valves

RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY:
1. Wear proper PPE at all times
2. Use and maintain all equipment in a safe manor
3. Become certified in ATV, Fork Trucks, and other Heavy Equipment
4. Use proper body mechanics while lifting and carrying objects
5. Adhere to Snowbasin’s safety Policies and Protocols

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Basic knowledge of plant and flower care
2. Basic knowledge in the use and operation of yard care equipment
3. Basic knowledge of pruning and trimming trees and bushes
4. Able to safely use basic hand tools
5. Able to work safely in an outdoor environment for long periods of time

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
A background in basic flower and tree care is essential. Experience in mowing and trimming either residential or commercial properties is also preferred. Experience in irrigation use and repair is preferred but not necessary.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid driver’s license required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Able to work outside for extended periods of time. Must be capable of lifting and carrying at least 50 lbs. Must be capable of using hand tools such as cutting and trimming tools, rakes, shovels, etc. for multiple hours at a time.
