Fixed Asset Manager

Visionary Communications, LLC seeks a qualified individual to fulfill the role of Fixed Asset Manager. This full-time, salary position will join Visionary’s internal Accounting team interact with all Visionary departments and report to the Controller. The position can be remote (if located within our service region - Colorado, Wyoming, Montana or Washington states), or based out of Visionary’s Gillette, Sheridan, Cheyenne, or Casper offices in Wyoming.

Job Duties:

• Create rules to move costs from assets under construction to property, plant, and equipment during month end closeout.
• Perform detailed analysis of major project costs to allocate costs at the high-level asset class level to individual units of property.
• Work with project groups to gather information needed to invest capital project costs and begin depreciation.
• Perform asset retirements as required.
• Assist in recording monthly project accruals.
• Answer and resolve internal and external audit inquiries.
• Ensure transactions are recorded, documented, and reviewed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Use established procedures while performing assigned tasks but apply judgment in carrying out the procedures.
• Timely and accurate capitalization, transfer, maintenance, and retirement of fixed assets
• Validating calculations of appropriate depreciation of fixed assets for both financial and tax purposes
• Performing analysis of metrics and preparing recurring fixed assets reports being shared with partners
• Building effective relationships with customers

• Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related degree
• CPA preferred but not required
• Minimum 5-7 years of accounting experience
• Knowledge of accounting cycle from construction in process to final asset preferred
• Effective analytical skills demonstrated through related experience
• Ability to multi-task
• Effective Microsoft Office skills including Excel
• Experience/knowledge of accounting entries and related impacts

Physical Requirements:

This position requires sitting to complete work with a computer using a variety of software & applications and telephone.

10-15% of the time will be spent traveling and potentially walking and standing in the field with various weather conditions, as well as occasional lifting and/or carrying and/or pushing/pulling of items less than 25lbs.
