The First Officer- is to transport Corporate Executives and passengers to attend business meetings and/or leisure travel. The First Officer is expected to navigate about in all kinds of flyable weather into unfamiliar airports. The aircraft to be flown is a King Air 350. The First Officer is to copilot the flight as directed by the designated PIC. If there are any doubts regarding the operational safety of a flight, he or she is required to counsel the Chief Pilot or designee, in any order, before continuing the flight. This part 91 operation will surely be as adventurous as it is challenging: using both VFR and IFR. Operating out of East Sacramento, you can expect flights covering most of the west coast across various states with occasional flights to the east coast. We often return to our own homes every night but keep a go-bag handy for the last-minute odyssey!

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Pre-planning and preparation for all flights: aircraft performance, fuel requirements, weather, and airport conditions.
  • Makes decisions as necessary to start, delay, divert, or cancel a flight. Communicates these decisions to the appropriate individuals as soon as practical.
  • Ensures the aircraft is properly functioning during a preflight inspection in accordance with manufacture AFM, FOM, and Company SOPs.
  • Greets passenger guests ensuring they feel comfortable and safe on the trip. Briefs passengers on all practical information needed to travel safely such as: safety restraints, ingress and egress procedures, and emergency equipment and procedures.
  • Keeps aircraft cleaned, stocked, and ready for flight. Accommodates client requests.
  • Assists in arranging ground transportation to passengers upon reaching unexpected destinations.
  • Operates the aircraft using navigation equipment, pilotage, dead-reckoning, or any combination thereof for respective VFR and IFR.
  • Communicates with air traffic control regarding any concerns or requests to alter course or change altitude due to poor weather.
  • Reports all flight, standby, and duty time using company time reporting system by end-of-day.
  • Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skills.
  • Performs tasks associated with operating the aircraft while away from home base.
  • Transports corporate executives, staff, and other passengers to visits or meetings.
  • Submits incident reports as requested by the Chief Pilot or SOP.
  • Order and supervise fuel deliveries.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable 14 CFR part 91 regulations and company SOP.
  • Reports known or suspected FAA violations or incidents promptly to the Chief Pilot.
  • Other flight department related duties as assigned by the Designated PIC, Chief Pilot, or Designee.


Competencies
:

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook
  • Concise communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with other professionals with diverse backgrounds.
  • Coordinate flight plans and meet the needs of emergency procedures using proper CRM to ensure safe flying conditions and outcomes.
  • Be aware of everything happening within and around the aircraft during all phases of the flight.
  • Ability to resolve issues quickly and effectively during flights.
  • Ability to remain calm when flying under stressful circumstances.
  • Routinely manage challenging weather conditions, mechanical issues, and flight delays.
  • Reporting to unscheduled flights in as little as 3 hours.

Work Environment:

Airplane, Office and Health care setting with clients and other employees present.

  • Various FBOs with diverse service types.
  • Working outdoors primarily and indoors occasionally.
  • Subject to harsh weather conditions on airport non-movement areas.
  • May walk on slippery and uneven walking surfaces.
  • Excessive and/or continuous noise at times.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods sitting in a plane for up to 7 hours.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Crawling under aircraft for inspection of systems prior to flight.
  • Reporting on flight times in early mornings or late evenings outside normal business hours.
  • Being on duty up to 14 hours.

Travel Required:

  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Daily out-and-back routes.
  • Occasional overnights.
  • Long FBO sits.

Required education and experience:

  • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate.
  • FAA 2nd Class Medical.
  • ASEL, AMEL, IA ratings.
  • Must possess a High School diploma or a GED.
  • Must possess CPR/First Aid certification.
  • 400 TT.
  • 200 XC.
  • 20 Night.

Preferred education and experience:

  • CFI, CFII, MEI.
  • 900 TT.
  • Prior turbine experience.

Salary: $65,000
