Fire Sprinkler Inspector / Contract Coordinator (Mon-Fri, 7-3:30)

SUMMARY: Complete fire sprinkler inspections and contract coordinator support at the GLOBALFOUNDRIES work site in Essex Junction. Regular work hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Job Duties include:
Ensure appropriate safety practices are followed by all parties at all times.

Fire Sprinkler Inspection

• With minimal supervision, perform inspection, testing, and minor repairs on all types of fire sprinkler systems throughout the site including cleanroom, penthouse, basement, and mezzanine areas.
• Prepare required reports for annual system inspections for Vermont DPS Division of Fire Safety per applicable NFPA codes.
• Systems include: Diesel and electric fire pumps; Wet, dry pipe and pre-action; Foam and deluge; Antifreeze loops; Hose drops

Contract Coordination

• Under general direction, supervises contractors for sprinkler system repairs, testing of fire pumps and foam system, kitchen hood cleaning and fire system inspections, and other service contractors including elevators, overhead doors, dock levellers, window replacement, boiler service, plumbing, electrical, HVAC as time allows.
• Coordinates job walks with customer, safety, and contractors to review work requests
• Assures contractors comply with all safety, facility and security requirements and assists contractors with access to restricted areas
• Manages workflow and contractor performance to provide the most cost-effective solution
• Must have ability to be on-call for facility emergencies as required

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must hold a valid driver’s license
• 2 years experience as sprinkler fitter and 2 years as fire sprinkler inspector required
• Vermont T3 certification required
• Must have strong organizational and customer service skills
• Basic computer skills including internet, e-mail, Word, and spreadsheets is required

Pay: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour
