Stonegate Gardens is an award-winning garden center located in Lincoln, MA within the Metro-West region of Boston. It is one of New England's most unique nurseries for specimen trees, shrubs, unusual conifers and a vast selection of perennials and annuals. With over five acres of nursery, garden center, and greenhouse space, we offer customers services including Fine Gardening, Concierge programs, Landscape Design, Container Gardening, and Home Decorating for the holidays.

We currently have openings on our Fine Gardening and Planting teams for both experienced and entry level positions. Being a part of the larger Stonegate Gardens Team will expose you to a valuable experience in all facets of this diverse business. Responsibilities:

• Plant and prune trees and shrubs including digging holes, staging and placing trees and shrubs, and general planting and gardening activities onsite for customers.
• Provide plant and container maintenance onsite for customers as required.
• Merchandise trees, shrubs, conifers, perennials, and other plant material onsite throughout the nursery.
• Engaging positively with customers and team members while onsite with clients and throughout the nursery, providing exceptional customer service.
• Load and unload product when transporting to customer sites or receiving product from vendor shipments.
• Collaborate with team members at all levels within the business to efficiently and effectively achieve results with a positive attitude.
• Watering and caring for plant material across all areas of the nursery
• Any other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication skills - able to clearly share information and both understand and positively act on the spoken and written instructions of supervisors required.
• Good customer service skills - able to interact positively with customers and team mates at all levels of the business.
• Solutions minded - willing and able to work collaboratively with others, bring issues with solutions to the attention of leadership required.
• Good organizational skills - able to visualize and logically organize plant material, hard goods, tools and equipment required.
• Safety conscious - able and willing to follow company protocols and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe and productive work environment required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance required.
• A valid MA Driver's License required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of ornamental trees and shrub pruning preferred.
• Basic understanding of plants, insects, pests, and diseases that may impact the health of plants preferred.
• Prior experience as a Fine Gardener, planting and maintaining a variety of trees, shrubs, and ornamentals highly preferred.
• Prior machine operator experience including use of Bobcats, Dozers, and Back-hoes preferred.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
