Field Service Technician
Job description
SUMMARY:
The Diesel Field Technician performs service and repairs on construction equipment such as, and not limited to, excavators, skid steer loaders, compact track loaders, telehandlers, wheel loaders, pavers, mobile feeders, rollers, and planers on-site and/or at customers site to ensure equipment continues to run according to manufacturer’s specifications. Ensures all JCB equipment standards are followed and executed consistent with the Company standards.
Responsibilities:

· Ability to effectively communicate with customers both in-house and in the field; and build strong professional relationships.
· Diagnose and repair gas engines, diesel engines, electric motors, transmissions, drive axles, differentials, hydraulic, brake, steering, and electrical systems.
· Per manufacturer’s safety guidelines, properly block, chock, and chain equipment and disassemble equipment as needed to facilitate major component removal and repair.
· Record maintenance and repair work performed by completing the necessary paperwork promptly.
· Complete basic and advanced technical training as assigned.
· Maintained parts and supplies needed for job completion.
· Maintain company vehicle cleanliness and ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
· Practice safe work habits, maintain a culture of safety & participate in all safety meetings.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
· Communicate effectively with supervisors and escalate issues as needed.
· Complete open work orders to ensure timely processing and billing.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED equivalent required
· Mechanical or trade school certificate preferred
· Three to five years of experience in heavy equipment repair or related industry
· Excellent mechanical aptitude, technical knowledge, and problem-solving skills
· Experience in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of Dynapac equipment
· Ability to read precision instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, etc.
· Welding and/fabrication skills and/experience preferred
· Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record (as shown on the current DMV report) required
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent customer service attitude and aptitude
· Expected to attend technical classes when offered by management
· Appearance must be clean, neat, and professional
· Must be able to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed
Physical Requirements:
· Must be physically able to repetitively stoop, bend, push, pull, squat, climb, and kneel regularly · Must be able to operate power machinery physically, use hand tools, use air compressor tools, band saw, and department grinder, steam cleaner, and parts washer machines,
· Must be able to lift 75 pounds unaided physically
· Must have good vision with or without the aid of eyewear
· Must be physically able to operate/drive a company vehicle

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.22 - $32.07 per hour
