Summary:
Reporting to the Sales Operations Manager, the Field Engineer will be the technical liaison between the customer and distributor Business Development Managers (BDM). This role will focus on increasing sales of Swagelok products by providing technical expertise through a sound understanding of our customer’s applications and develop and provide fluid handling solutions to meeting customer needs and specification. The ideal candidate will have solid project management skills, the ability to solve complex problems and be able to identify new and/or emerging opportunities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Become an expert on Swagelok offerings and process and instrumentation applications
- Support Business Development Managers by providing technical expertise to customers on the application of Swagelok products through sales and business development calls
- Stay connected with customer base and industry trends to help ensure Albany Valve & Fitting Co., Inc. continues to lead the marketplace
- Track all sales activity in SAP B1
- Assist and support the development of Custom Solutions business within Sales and Service Center
- Support the distributorship’s training initiatives to associates and end-users
- Attain stated sales goals by understanding strategic plans of distributor and the business group
- Leverage project management skills to ensure clear goals and objectives are understand by all Custom Solutions stakeholders to ensure accurate order fulfillment
- Develop quotes and proposals that meet customer needs while adding significant value to both customers and Sales and Services Center
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline - required
- History of success in business, sales, or Application Engineering
- Demonstrated success rapidly building and maintaining relationships
- The ability to interpret and understand customer applications to develop P&ID and fluid schematics
- Skills to solve complex problems, and complete projects using problem solving methods to make sound engineering decisions
- Demonstrated success working with technical offerings
- A history of excellence in communication, active listening, problem solving and a willingness to close
- A history of, or demonstrated intrinsic drive to compete and win
