Upriver Organic’s is a diversified family farm whose mission is to grow high quality, tasty food for our local community and ourselves while enjoying the process. We are a 2nd generation farm in the McKenzie River Valley 35 minutes east of Eugene and 40 minutes from the Willamette National Forest and Three Sisters Wilderness in the Cascade Mountains. We are an Oregon Tilth Certified Organic Farm in our 24th season that seeks to be a well rounded socially, environmentally and economically stable farm.

Our farm has vended at farmers markets in Lane County for over 17 years. We pride ourselves with growing good looking, high quality certified organic fruits and vegetables, while offering our customers unique items they can’t find at other booths. We view ourselves as a cornerstone to the market, currently attending both Tuesday and Saturday Lane County Farmers Markets, located Tuesday at the Park Blocks on 8th and Oak, and Saturday at 5th & Pearl in downtown Eugene.

We are in search of a hard working and friendly individual that can help make the 2023 Farmers Market season a blast!

Job Responsibilities:

• Work a combination of Saturdays (May-Oct) and Tuesdays (mid-May-Oct) in Eugene
• Help create an inviting and aesthetically pleasing market booth
• Work on an upbeat, fast paced team
• Provide a positive and engaging customer experience
• Driver Role Ability to commute to farm, pick up our box truck, drive the truck from the farm to most markets including: every other Tuesday market and 2-3 Saturdays/month. Local wholesale deliveries around Eugene to 3-8 vendors. Occasionally work a Wednesday produce delivery shift as well.
• Lifting and moving of heavy produce 50+ pound bins.
• NO CDL Required. No experience needed driving large trucks, We will train you on driving.

Skills and experience desired

• 1 year working retail or ideally in produce
• An understanding and appreciation for local, organic produce production
• Cash and credit card handling experience
• Strong communication skills
• Competant driver with clean driving history.

Schedule

This job is a seasonal, part time job with variable hours

May-October (10-30 hrs/wk depending upon availability)

November-December (~10-20 depending upon availability)

Compensation

$15.50hr

Fresh vegetables & fruits

Bonus pay.
