Job description

The Fabricator is responsible for adhering to a production schedule, ensuring that all parts are properly fitted, aligned and secured and ensuring that safety standards are always met, among other duties. Responsible for assembling finished products using tools, machines, and hands. Fabricates various types of products.

1. Applies various welding techniques for fabrication and repair purposes.

2. Operates manual welding equipment

3. Interprets prints, drawings, plans, or job write-ups and apply fabrication or welding techniques to complete projects.

4. Possess a high mechanical aptitude and be able to use various mechanical hand and power tools/equipment.

5. Verifies the functionality of safety equipment.

6. Measures dimensions of work pieces to ensure conformance using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, templates, rulers, etc.

7. Adheres to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for health, safety, and environmental compliance.

8. Calibrates or adjust equipment to ensure quality production, using different tools.

9. Inspects finished projects

10. Monitors and adjusts processes or equipment for quality and productivity.

11. Troubleshoots problems with equipment, devices, or products.

12. Tests products or subassemblies for functionality or quality.

13. Provides advice or training to other technicians.

14. Fabricates equipment in accordance with manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures.

15. Selects cleaning materials, tools, or equipment.

16. Plans and lays out work to meet production and schedule requirements.

17. Assists engineers in developing, building, or testing prototypes or new products, processes, or procedures.

18. Prepares and assembles materials and equipment.

19. Keeps maintenance logs if applicable

20. Measures and records data associated with operating equipment.

21. Builds product subassemblies or final assemblies.

22. Prepares production documents, such as standard operating procedures, manufacturing batch records, inventory reports, or productivity reports, etc.

23. Assists in maintaining maintenance inventory

24. Maintains clean work area

25. Follows all safety procedures, rules and guidelines and notifies the Maintenance manager or Plant Manager of any existing or potential safety issues.

26. Maintains all tooling.

27. Improves self in any way possible to enhance job performance.

28. Promotes the Company, its Mission, Values, programs and achievements to the public and other employees.

29. Identifies organizational problems and opportunities for improvement and brings solutions and suggestions to management’s attention.
