Wealth Management Risk is responsible for identifying, measuring, and managing the current and emerging risks of the WM division and, in coordination with WM's Business Control Units and Second Line Risk Management and Compliance, implementing control processes and procedures to mitigate risk consistent with WM's risk appetite and governance framework


Wealth Management (WM) Privacy Risk Executive Director is responsible for driving privacy implementation strategies and governance for the Wealth Management business line. The team is looking for an executive director to drive Wealth Management's implementation legacy account and consumer data deletion platform development and process implementation. The individual will report to the deputy Head of Privacy Risk. A successful candidate will lead a high-profile program to define requirements and implement Wealth Management's account deletion with key stakeholders from various business units, legal, compliance and technology. The individual will own and manage operational processes and key business controls required to maintain continuous legacy consumer data deletion processes.

Key Responsibilities:
    Lead business stakeholder engagement determine business rules to legacy consumer data deletion and identify systems of record
    Collaborate with technology and business product stakeholders to define requirements for deletion processes
    Drive partnership with legal and compliance define appropriate records retention maintenance rules and corresponding operational processes
    Champion comprehensive end-to-end planning is to ensure results met are aligned to the stated goals of the project
    Lead governance calls with senior management to report program health in key performance and risk indicators and garner consensus on key decisions
    Provide mechanisms to capture and monitor remediation of any potential project and implementation risks
    Create standards, procedures and maintain relevant privacy supervisory procedures
    Advise senior management on data lifecycle management risks and issues for Wealth Management, making recommendations for appropriate risk management strategies
    Support budget and ensure resources are allocated appropriately.
    Mentor junior staff to enable their professional development and continued growth

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills:
    10+years of experience in one or more of the following disciplines (privacy, data governance, information management, business strategy in finance firm or operational risk management)
    Bachelor's or advanced degree in relevant field
    Working knowledge of privacy laws, regulations, and privacy risks
    Strong understanding of risk management concepts and financial products
    Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to speak in technical and non-technical business contexts
    Strong leadership skills and experience managing a team.
    Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex privacy concepts to a variety of audiences.
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
    Experience managing budgets and allocating resources.
    Experience working with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, legal, and marketing
    Strong organizational, project management and issue resolution skills
    Good project management skills with the ability to manage multiple work streams
    Expertise in all MS Office tools, including Power Point, Excel, Project, and Visio


Preferred Skills:
    Financial Industry experience
    Relevant professional certifications such as CIPM, etc.
    Experience dealing with and presenting to regulators and auditors
    Experience with mergers and acquisitions or other related integrations

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150,000 and $235,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
