Summary:

The Project Estimator position at Mustang Extreme Environmental (MEES) prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Acquire understanding of the requirements of the project/program at hand

• Select metrics to produce valid estimates

• Visit sites, warehouses, and other venues to gather essential information

• Review documents or consult experts to collect all necessary data

• Analyze data and produce forecasts of time/material/resource utilization

• Perform risk analysis and communicating potential risks to senior management and team

• Prepare detailed reports or bids for submission to appropriate parties

• Select advantageous deals by evaluating offers and quotes

• Foster relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, architects etc.)

• Experience in CADD design/drafting and reading construction/engineering drawings

• Incorporate strict quality standards into estimates to minimize corner cutting or sub-par work.

• Interacts closely with operations/field/site teams in order to understand work capabilities and capacity

• Possess comprehensive knowledge of all company products, services and resources including manpower and equipment.

Requirements, Knowledge and Core Competencies:

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college in engineering or completion of a Construction Science/Engineering/Technology program plus five years construction estimation experience in a related field

• Basic understanding of accounting and project management concepts.

• Deep understanding of research methodology, data analysis and estimation metrics

• Strong verbal, written, and analytical skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management while exhibiting a high degree of emotional intelligence

• Ability to navigate at an advanced level in a Windows® environment including above average proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel.

• Experience with estimation software is preferred

• Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) is preferred

• Ability to develop specific goals and plans in order to prioritize, organize, and accomplish required work.

• Ability to efficiently communicate with business partners, supervisors/managers, peers, or subordinates in verbal or written form.

Working Environment:

Typical office/field working environment necessary to perform all essential job functions with reasonable accommodations compliant with EEOC enforced ADA guidelines. This position is a combination of indoor and outdoor activity, consistent with a position in construction operations and has a noise level of mostly low to high. Outdoor activities may include travel to clients’ project sites and local and out of state offices of the company and its customers, as necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
