Have relevant experience in a comparable work environment.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Working knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.

Have a valid State of Kansas Driver’s License.

Possesses a work ethic that is strongly oriented toward both efficiency and customer service.

Meet all job standards in a time sensitive manner as determined by the Supervisor.

Ability to work unsupervised and take initiative. Demonstrate ability to meet quality and quantity standards and on time requirements.

Be able to supervise and manage work performed by vendors.

Meet District grooming and interpersonal standards.

Meet all District safety requirements.

Be able to work a 40-hour workweek. Overtime is often available.

Be able to work in any and all weather, temperatures, and lighting conditions under which the job must be performed.

Plan, troubleshoot, and maintain district custodial and food service equipment.

Schedule and perform preventative maintenance of custodial equipment.

Schedule and perform regular cleaning of district ice machines.
-
Schedule and perform summer shut down and fall start up of kitchen refrigerators and freezers.
-
Consult with and coordinate any contracted repair services that exceed internal capacity.
-
Advise custodial and maintenance leadership of anticipated equipment repair needs and life cycle to assist with replacement schedules.
-
Assist with removing snow/ice from parking lots and sidewalks as needed.
-
Complete work orders as required.
-
Performs other duties as assigned.

Manage job requirements with physical mobility to move from place to place (walking, standing, stooping, pushing, pulling, kneeling, crawling, turning, reaching, climbing, balancing, lift up to 60 pounds on a daily basis)

Use of misc. hand and power tools

Work will include interaction with electricity, water, natural gas, batteries, cleaning chemicals

Must work in and around water, dust, fumes and odors.

Must work in noisy and crowded environments, with numerous interruptions.

Must work indoors and outdoors year-round in a variety of temperatures.

Requires regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Terms of Employment: Twelve-month at-will position. 40 hour work week or as established by the Board. Schedules or shifts may be altered depending upon the critical nature or emergency circumstances of the job. Work hours will be determined as required by conditions. Vacation and sick day allowances included in District Personnel Policy.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy as stated in the Classified Handbook.
