Summary:
Gathers, interpret and analyzes geologic data and/or records obtained from fieldwork to determine the risk of contamination by hazardous materials on client sites. Prepares technical reports detailing environmental assessment activities and findings and presenting remediation options and other pertinent geological information consistent with Company policy and guidelines. Manages a team of field environmental specialists and/or scientists.
Responsibilities:
· 20%: Selects, orients, directs, motivates, trains and retains staff capable of meeting current and projected human resources needs; makes recommendations and/or decisions on various personnel matters such as salaries, performance reviews and terminations.
· 20%: Responsible for management and organization of projects with regard to timely completions, organization and coordination. Developing skills for autonomous project management. Works directly and cooperatively with Project Managers to coordinate field activities. Understanding that everyone is a customer including internal and external contacts.
· 20%: Confer with clients and state agencies regarding collection of necessary information and scheduling of site visits. Includes completion of written and verbal interaction while maintaining acceptable levels of confidentiality and customer service.
· 20%: Collects soil, water and other field samples and performs site checks. Gathers collected data obtained from site specific sampling for the preparation of site specific reports. Provide findings and recommendations for review of upper level staff.
· 20%: Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

· Education: Requires at least a four-year college level course of study in Geology, Earth Sciences, environmental Sciences or equivalent experience.
· Experience: 7+ years of experience in the field of Environmental field consulting, Geology or Environmental Science. Any combination of required experience adding to a sum of 7+ years is acceptable.
· Licenses/Certifications: UST inspector, UST installer, UST Remover licenses preferred but will be required to obtain post hire. Groundwater Professional and HAZWOPER 40 hour certifications required upon hire. Requires valid driver's license, state-issued CDL preferred. State registration professional license is preffered.
· Technical Abilities: Understanding of geologic principles and rock and soil structure as would normally be acquired through a four-year college level course of study in geology or related earth science, or through equivalent experience. Good technical, analytical and organizational skills. Attention to detail. Good mathematical skills. Ability to prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate records and logs. Good computer skills, including automated drafting skills. Good verbal and written communications skills. Ability to perform manual fieldwork as described.
· Travel: Some travel required. Estimated to be 2-4 nights per month.
· Autonomy/Direction: Takes performance expectations from senior leaders and directs the work of others to meet expectations. Works with little to no supervision and is required to demonstrate high-level decision-making including personnel decisions.
